Williams Lake's Thunder Mountain Speedway, operated by a non profit society, is a first class facility that draws some of Western Canada's most prestigious racing series. Thunder Mountain Speedway is one of many popular Cariboo attractions and provides a significant return to the local economy.
Thunder Mountain Speedway is a 3/8 mile, paved, banked oval. The track is 50 feet wide, is banked 12 degrees on the corners and 3.5 degrees on the straights and is shaped to provide a longer straight away between turns 3 and 4 than turns 1 and 2.
Thunder Mountain Speedway is home to such classes as Street Stocks, Pro Stocks, Mini Stocks, Tough Trucks, and the ever-popular Crash-to-Pass (or hit to pass) series! Invitational classes also include Dwarf cars, Katana Boats Sportsman Series, South Okanagan Bakery Series (SOBS), Sprint Cars and Mug Boggers
